Steel Fabrication Shop Project Manager

The Steel Fabrication Project Manager coordinates and monitors all aspects of steel fabrication projects. They ensure that the projects stay on schedule and within budget. Day-to-day functions Day-to-include reviewing project estimates, and general coordination of the fabrication process with the project level Project Managers. This includes reviewing and understanding the proposals, reviewing and approval of all drawings, details, and releases, ensure the same is accurate, coherent, and released for fabrication in a streamlined, and efficient fabrication in accordance with the fabrication schedule. They work with the purchasing department to ensure that materials have been procured for each project. They also continuously look for ways to increase the efficiency of production.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Schedule fabrication projects
  • Coordinates timing, phases, and releases of the projects
  • Releases drawings and documents for production
  • Acts as the liaison between Project Managers at the Las Vegas office, and Shop Foreman
  • Facilitate RFI coordination with Las Vegas Project Managers
  • Coordinate change orders with Las Vegas Project Managers
  • Assures that the project scope of work is adhered to
  • Accurately maintains drawings and documents
  • Maintain job checklists in EPM
  • Physically able to talk, hear, walk on uneven surfaces, go up and down ladders, lift and move 50 lbs.
  • Knows industry codes and standards; i.e., AWS, AISC, OSHA, etc.
  • Ensures that the Company Handbook, Quality Control and Safety Manuals are adhered to
  • Assists in any other area as assigned by Management
  • Meet all corresponding classification levels of skill, behavior, productivity

Qualification/Skills

  • Previous knowledge/experience in steel fabricating
  • Knowledge of production processes, procedures, and positions
  • Management experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of environmental, health, and safety rules and regulations
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints
  • Attentive to detail
  • Organization skills
  • Proficient experience using Tekla, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office
  • Results-driven and goal-oriented

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $75,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
